Channelling the energy she has received from different angels in her dreams into raw, unfiltered compositions, Dreams of Angels is the most recent album from composer and pianist Karen Salicath Jamali.
By Graeme Smith
After spending many years as a visual artist, she turned to piano after a near-death experience in 2012. A deeply spiritual person, her new album offers us mediations of the themes of peace, love, compassion, light, life, truth, healing, wisdom and courage with a composition received from various angels.
The album was recorded as performed, without any work done in post except for mastering by Parma Records. The result is something that feels immediate and intimate. You can almost picture Karen at her piano (at around 5am when she tended to record) as you listen. There are sixteen compositions altogether starting with the delicate and stirring ArchAngel Metratron (The Angel of Life) and ending with the reflective and serene Angel Jeramiel (The Angel of Dreams).
Dreams of Angels is out now and you can give it a listen below.
