Hailing from down the road in Leeds, Fools Arcade are the latest of a long line of rock bands that are making noise on behalf of Yorkshire.
By Graeme Smith
Fools Arcade are Adam Smith on vocals, Ryan Smith on guitar and vocals, Thom Wilding on bass and vocals, Joe Priestley on guitar, and Tom Hinchcliffe on drums. They’re new to our blog thanks to their latest single, So Much Time.
The track explores the topic of figuring out what’s important, and addressing those niggling doubts in our heads – be it chores undone or work to do – to live in the moment. A rousing intro gives way to a bouncy, poppy arrangement that pairs a driving rhythm with bright riffs. When the vocals float in, they’re beautifully soulful and relatable, giving the whole track a folksy feel.
I love to share good music to this blog and it’s always a bonus when it’s being created by a local act. Fools Arcade have a relatable, polished sound and aren’t afraid to say something with their music. They’re a Yorkshire band that I’ll be keeping a close eye on.
So Much Time was recorded in Leeds and is out now and you can give it a listen below.
