New to our blog, Ryan Smith is a Leeds-based singer songwriter who has come to our attention through his recently released single, Surprise Me.

Opening with a swinging groove, we are quickly introduced to Ryan’s charismatic vocals. They deliver romantic lyrics with plenty of soulfulness as the track builds to a pop-rock crescendo in the chorus. There’s a classic feel about it all, while also providing some modern polish. A sax solo is the icing on the cake.

Though Ryan’s solo work is new to our blog, this isn’t the first time we’ve featured his music. Ryan is one-fifth of Fools Arcade, a band who graced our pages earlier this month.
