Los Angeles, USA-based singer songwriter Lou Emery has appeared on this blog a few times now. I first discovered her music in May last year thanks to her catchy track Instinctual. That was followed by shares of singles Wish and, more recently, Roots. Her latest sees her lean into the edgier and more cynical side of her sound. It’s called Fools.

Fools is a pop rock track that goes deep with its lyrical content. Philosophically, it reflects on religion, asking the question: is ignorance truly bliss? The song unfolds with some fiery, jangly rock, cantering along towards a big pop chorus where Lou’s vocals are are their biting best.
The fourth single from her upcoming debut EP, Fools is written and performed by Lou Emery, with production coming from Alex Arnaout. You can give it a listen below.
