Led by Zora McDonald and based in London, Dryadic are a group that are new to our blog through their LGBTQ+-friendly single, Rainbow Family.

The term “rainbow family” refers to the people you chose to have around you, especially when you find yourself as one of society’s misfits. It’s a phenomenon that Dryadic celebrate and cherish with their latest single of the same name, written during a time when Zora was isolated on a canal boat in rural Gloucestershire during lockdown.
Rainbow Family is a warm acoustic number infused with plenty of soul and storytelling. It’s beautifully delivered by Zora’s expressive vocals during a stripped-back verse before becoming wonderfully folksy in the refrain. It builds nicely to a bright and life-affirming crescendo which is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Dryadic was formed back in 2017 by Zora with Joanna Dziecelska. Joining them to complete the line-up are Aly Rainey on fiddle and George Pearson on double-bass. Their music is as much inspired by European folklore as it is by legendary folk pop acts like The Levellers. Mythology, nature, and Zora’s personal experiences all inform their lyrics.
Rainbow Family is out now and you can give it a listen below.
