Dwelling on forgotten memories and the unspoken, Words We Couldn’t Say is the new track from In The Afterglow.
By Graeme Smith
In The Afterglow’s latest is a ghostly, haunting and dreamy track with soft, angelic vocals contrasted by a rock edge. In many ways, it’s a typical shoegaze sound, but everything about it feels elevated. The riffs cut through the etherealness well while the vocals mesmerise. As the track reaches its conclusion, the instrumental lingers, engulfing us with atmosphere.
It’s the third single we’ve shared from British-Canadian, Vancouver-based producer Alfred Hermida who performs as In The Afterglow. He blends the shoegaze of My Bloody Valentina and Slowdive with cutting edge AI to create his work and we’re certainly fans of it.
Words We Couldn’t Say is out now, available to buy as a digital track on Bandcamp. You can give it a listen below.
