The Margate-based trio of Owen Mellett, Joe Martin, and Dan Hughes, aka TEZ, are new to our blog with their latest single.

Their latest release, When Our Worlds Collide, is bright, jangly indie rock that’s perfect for summer. The edge of the instrumental is tempered nicely by echoing, dreamy notes and soft, soulful vocals. There’s an introspectiveness to its lyrics, giving it a relatable quality, especially during a chorus that doesn’t hold back. It’s definitely one for fans of ’00s indie bands like The Maccabees and The Drums.
“When Our Worlds Collide started as a living room jam and ten minutes later the words were written – clearly something I needed to get out,” the band shares. “It’s about loving someone whose life is unfolding somewhere else, and holding onto the hope that one day, you’ll exist in the same place without either of you having to sacrifice your dreams.”
With influences that include Palace, Foals, and Two Door Cinema Club, TEZ have a sound that is getting them noticed. BBC Introducing’s Abbie McCarthy said of them: “we’ve loved these guys for a little while now.” Now, we’re fans too.
