Margate-based singer songwriter Kkailou shares title track from her debut EP, midnight.

Midnight sits at the end of her EP, providing its powerful finale. Exploring serious themes such as conflict, oppressive systems and reparation, it opens boldly with horns played by Robbie Redway. Kkailou’s expressive vocals come in and we are immediately taken by her poetic lyrics. Mournful strings stir and rouse in equal measure before we arrive at the track’s full indie folk arrangement. I’ve not heard much like it.
