Railing against an era of political nihilism, Andrew Schneider returns to our pages for the first time since 2023 with his latest single, Astonish Me.

To tackle an uncertain present, Schneider has turned to the sounds of yesteryear, leaning into classic rock influences such as Bowie and Depeche Mode and filtering them through his own genre-bending style. The vocals are crooning, holding a sense of wistfulness during charged verses and soaring choruses.

Through it all, there’s a sense of defiant hope, a belief that we can do better which makes it a stirring effort. As the world takes its first tentative steps into 2026, it feels salient.
