Pop music sometimes has a reputation for being a little soulless, but thankfully, French singer-songwriter Poddy Paris is one artist bucking that trend. Try her new single Chasing Shadows in an Empty Room and see if you agree, as we certainly do!

Chasing Shadows in an Empty Room starts off slowly with just Poddy’s vocals and a pretty piano melody, with the hint of a string arrangement in the background. The music picks up a little more towards the chorus, turning this tune from a sad ballad into an emotive pop banger that should have you feeling everything if you’ve ever been heartbroken in your life. Lyrically, the song follows the loneliness that often comes when a relationship breaks-up, with little reminders following you until the grieving process is finally complete. However, on Chasing Shadows in an Empty Room, Poddy Paris has really captured this vibe and made it her own in a wonderful way.
