Discovery: Brennan Gilmore

On his latest release Wolf and Sheep, former U.S. diplomat turned multi-instrumentalist Brennan Gilmore delivers an epic and deeply evocative piece of storytelling.

By Jane Howkins

Wolf and Sheep is quite different from what you’d normally expect from a typical single – it’s a folk-rock song of sorts, but it also comes to a whopping nearly nine minutes – however, the entire thing is well worth a listen. The main guitar melody is a joy to behold, becoming a blessing when the piano kicks in to follow the melody. Around halfway through, Wolf and Sheep turns into something else entirely – instead, it becomes a slow and stripped-down Americana track, changing completely. It certainly makes for an interesting listen!
