Interview: Caden Stone

Nashville-based artist Caden Stone is forging a sound that thrives in the shadows, as showcased in his new release How Cold You Have Become, which we featured recently in our Mosh metal review. It’s a fantastic track and one that promises great things for Caden’s future in the music industry. Because of this, I decided to sit down and have a chat with him about his creative journey and the song itself…

I believe this is our first time speaking to you. How has your 2026 been so far?

2026 has been a pretty insane year for me so far. I’ve grown a lot as an artist, released new music, watched Halogen Heart continue to find new listeners and started building a true community around what I’m doing. I’m still entirely independent, so getting to see everything grow organically has been surreal.

You have a new single out titled How Cold You Have Become. What can you tell us about the track and how has the reception been so far?

How Cold You Have Become explores a depraved perspective of human nature. I like writing from different perspectives and stepping into the minds of characters that aren’t necessarily good people. It was born in my bedroom, so seeing it go from something I made alone to something that’s reaching thousands of people has been mind-blowing. The reception has exceeded anything I expected, especially seeing people connect with it before it was even released.

Do you have any more singles planned for release soon?

Definitely. I’m always working on something, and How Cold You Have Become is only a glimpse of where I’m going next.

You released an EP last year titled Halogen Heart. What can you tell us about the EP? I hear it had quite a good reception?

Halogen Heart was my debut EP, and it was a really important release for me, because it was the first time I was truly putting myself out there as an independent artist. I made a lot of it from my bedroom, without a label or a big budget, so seeing it surpass 20,000 streams was incredibly gratifying. More than the numbers though, I’m grateful that people found something in those songs that meant something to them.

Do you have any plans to release a full-length album or another EP anytime soon?

Another EP is definitely on the horizon. Right now, I’m really focused on making sure every song has a reason to exist rather than rushing toward a full-length album.

You’re originally from Tennessee. What is the local music scene like in your area?

Tennessee has such a rich musical history, but where I’m from, the scene isn’t necessarily centered around the kind of music I make. Growing up in a small town and feeling like an outcast pushed me to create my own world.

Who are your main influences as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

My biggest influences are probably Marilyn Manson, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, She Wants Revenge and David Bowie. I’ve always been drawn to artists that create an entire world around their music, rather than just making songs. Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of electronic music, but I’m constantly finding new songs to spin. I think that variety naturally finds its way into what I create.

Do you have anything else exciting coming up this year?

There’s a lot coming. More music, more visuals and hopefully, some opportunities to bring my music into the real world. I’m really focused on building this community right now, so I’m excited for the road ahead.

Do you perform live much? Do you have any tour dates lined up in the UK this year?

That’s something I really want to do. I’ve been focused heavily on creating and releasing music, but getting my songs onto a stage is a huge goal of mine. I don’t have any UK dates confirmed yet, but I’d love to play there.

Any last words for the fans?

Thank you for listening. Seriously. I’m grateful for your devotion and support. Keep being yourself no matter what, and to everyone who’s ever felt like an outcast, this music is for you.
