Discovery: Fatewell’s New Release Reminds Us of AI’s Limitations

You’re Not So Human is the latest release of musician Craigycraig for his project Fatewell. This is a song that questions the relationships we have with technology, specifically AI.

By Eleanor Banyard

Craigycraig says: “The more technology learns to become human, the more important it becomes for us to remember what makes us human”.

The song begins with a clean, catchy beat, which continues throughout the track. The instrumentals are paired with calm juxtaposing vocals to convey an important philosophical message around what it means to be human in a rapidly advancing technological age. At the beginning of the track, the lyrics relate the positives of AI: “More flawless than human, you decode my vision with pixel precision”. However, as the song progresses, the second half adopts a more critical and negative view of technology in everyday life. Craigycraig sings “You don’t feel … you don’t see the same as I do”.

The energetic music video pairs with the themes of the song, with fast-paced editing and animations of glitches and binary code to add to the technological imagery. This audiovisual experience serves as an energetic reminder of our own humanity and the qualities that technology cannot replicate.

You’re Not So Human is out now, and you can watch the video below.
