The last time we featured Charlie Cunningham’s music here was way back in 2017. so I think it’s about high time that we featured more of his stuff on these pages! His new release is titled An Opening (with strings), showing a slightly different side to Charlie’s music this time around.

By Jane Howkins

I should point out that this track is actually a reworking of Charlie’s song An Opening, taken from his acclaimed debut album Lines. On this version, Charlie is joined by The Night Orchestra at London’s iconic RAK Studios, seeing the singer-songwriter breathe new life into this already beautiful piece of music. The fingerpicked guitar melody is haunting to behold when laid out against the stirring vocals and emotional lyrics, as the orchestra plays along in a gorgeous manner in the background. This is potentially the best version of the song out at the moment, so don’t miss out!
