ShatterFest 2015

York promoters One For The Road are hosting the fifth and final instalment of their music extravaganza ShatterFest at The Fleeting Arms on Saturday 15 August, featuring two stages of great music from across Yorkshire and beyond! Previous events have involved nationally known acts such as Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun, Beans on Toast and Mike TV taking the headline slot, but this year it’s a more local affair with York garage punk band The Franceens closing the event.

“We were considering getting another up and coming touring act in to headline like in previous years” explains Craig Slaney, who has booked the line-up “but there aren’t many bands in the UK that match up to The Franceens at the minute. Their live shows are incredible.”

The line-up isn’t purely York based though. Singer-songwriter Tim OT from London will be travelling up to close the acoustic stage, as well as The Atoms from Derby and Nosebleed and Pray For Hayden from Leeds. Folky Northern songstress Pip Mountjoy completes the out of town representation, which lines up alongside a strong selection of local acts.

There’s always been one thing at ShatterFest that is slightly different each year, whether it’s been Jonny Gill playing unplugged whilst stood on the bar, or usually noisy bands playing a stripped down acoustic set, and 2015 will be no different. York pop-punk band Feed Them To The Forest will be appearing on the acoustic stage.

Freaks + Geeks, The Puddin’s, One Way Street, Boss Caine, Tumbleweed Salesman, Tom Shillito and Sing Ramona Sing complete the line-up. All that for just £5 in advance of £7 on the door.

We’re excited to see such a great line-up of local and touring acts taking the stage at the fantastic venue that is the Fleeting Arms. Watch out in particular for Derby punk rockers The Atoms.
