Local up-and-coming folk band the Bramble Napskins are playing a show at The Basement this Friday, and as anyone who has seen them before can testify, they’re certainly worth a watch! Head down early to secure your place, as this popular band are sure to sell out!

Emerging Musicians

YHA York

Friday 6 May, 7.00 pm

YHA is hosting a free gig to showcase the talents of three emerging musicians. The headliner is Jack Rosies, a musician that blends British folk with country elements. Support comes from Matt Wright, frontman of band King Compass, and Connor Foweraker, a singer influenced by classic pop and blues.

The Tempest

York Theatre Royal

Tuesday 10 May 6.30 pm

York Theatre Royal have been working with schools to help students engage with and add perspective to Shakespeare’s works. This year eight school perform a section of the well-known Shakespearean play The Tempest giving a new interpretation for each scene.
