York Fake Festival at The Knavesmire

Queen, Kasabian and The Red Hot Chili Peppers come to York as York Fake Festival plays host to world-class tributes this summer on the 10th Anniversary tour.

The big white Fake Festivals marquee will once again be at The Knavesmire on Saturday 28th May, as the ever-popular touring tribute festival brings world-class tributes to Queen, Kasabian and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

fake festival 5Flash, Kazabian and The Really Hot Chili Peppers are the best tribute acts in their field. They not only sound like the real thing, but they also look like them, and deliver the most accurate stage show of the real band.

Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals, has spent years finding the best tributes, and luckily they are all based in the UK.

“It’s a very proud thing to be able to say that the best tributes to Queen, Kasabian and The Red Hot Chili Peppers are found in the UK,” says Jez. “I have seen many tribute bands across the globe perform, and none match up the ones I have found here in the UK. All the tribute bands we use are booked round the world to perform, illustrating their great demand, and they are also highly recommended and endorsed by the real thing, so we feel very lucky that they are able to add us to their gig dates.”

Kazabian, one of the headlining tributes, tour extensively around the UK and Europe, and have performed alongside Olli Murs, Pendulum, Ocean Colour Scene and Pigeon Detectives to name a few. The band has been featured in several publications including Q Magazine, Esquire and the Guardian, and have also been featured on NME TV.

“Fake Festivals is a great concept, and we always love being part of the tour. It’s a great chance for us to perform in the UK and to also catch up with friends from the other tribute bands too. The Fake Festivals tour has gone from strength to strength each year, and this year with the Big Fake Festival, it’s guaranteed to be a winner,” says Eddy Andersen, frontman of Kazabian.

Not only can this year’s York Fake Festival goers enjoy the live shows, but they can also get up close and personal with their idols, as they pass through the marquee, grabbing a beer before they go on stage.

Headlining this year’s event will be Flash, Kazabian and The Really Hot Chili Peppers, along with five local support acts.
