A UK rock band heavily influenced by 1970’s rock but with their own unique style, formed in 1995 they have won awards such as Best Live Concert and Best Female Vocalist in 2014. The BBC said Mostly Autumn “fuse the music of Genesis and Pink Floyd with Celtic themes, hard rock and strong, emotional melodies” and are not an act to be missed live.

The Basement

Fancy something a little bit different this Friday then head to The Basement to support Paper Swan Press, an independent publisher working to bring poetry into the local community. They’ll be launching their latest anthology ‘The Chronicles of Eve’, which is a collection engulfed with the tales of women; from love and loss to body awareness, each demonstrating the raw truth of womanhood.

The Spread Eagle

Saturday 21 May, 9.00 pm

Funny singer-songwriter Captain Hotknives comes to The Spread Eagle in York this Saturday to perform a selection of his hilarious, musical takes on modern life. The gig is free as well, so even if you just fancy a couple of pints, this is set to be a good night!
