The three events you shouldn’t miss this week.
Hyde Park
York University, Heslington East Campus
Thursday 9 June – Saturday 11 June
Students from York University are putting on a production of Hyde Park by James Shirley this week, over three days at the University itself. They’ve put on a quite a few performances before (each one gaining good reviews), so this should be very interesting, especially considering that they are putting a modern twist on proceedings.
It Came From The Tumble Dryer
The Basement
Thursday 9 June, 2.30 pm
If the intriguing name of this event hasn’t already won you over then knowing it is at The Basement should, as it’s always hosting quality events. Plus, the whole premise of this production is the ‘Asockalpse’ aka when the end of the world is caused by socks taking over. With such a comical tale to tell, this is bound to be one to remember.
King No-One, Faux Pas, Alleyways, Lion Papers
Fibbers
Friday 10 June, 8.00 pm
This Friday the Duchess will be home to an assembly of incredible musical talent. There’s northern headliners King No-One who’ve amassed an incredible fan-base, which includes various radio DJs, with their indie/rock anthems. Support comes from a bunch of indie Yorkshire lads.
