Chilled out solo artist The Japanese House is pretty much on the under the radar hot list right now, gaining infamy that has launched her onto a UK and European tour that includes an appearance at Leeds Festival on 27 August. In anticipation of her EP release on 30 June, she has released two new tracks for the scene to soak up.
By Graeme Smith
Saw You In A Dream is the title track of her upcoming EP and comes complete with a beautifully choreographed video. Whimsical and melodic, the track is a heart warmer. A steady beat is accompanied by minimalist electric guitar that explodes into an electronic climax in the chorus.
3/3 is an upbeat, distorted number that had all the hallmarks of a hit. From its somewhat witch house opening it builds into lilting chords and an understated big beat sound that complements Amber Bain’s haunting voice.
Akin to the likes of Haim and Lucy Rose, The Japanese House is right on trend and destined for great things. She’ll likely be a must see at Leeds Festival, or any of her headline shows further afield.
Saw You In A Dream EP will be available on Friday 30 June 2017.
