Jason Nolan is an enigmatic young artist, born in London but “bred on the periphery”. It’s perhaps an apt description for this musical style, which feels connected to the city but out in its own space.
His new track Late Night City Hawks is simultaneously pumping and chilled. A driving beat is ever-present beneath his mellow vocals. Tinkling synths and strings hit you in both ears, but never at the same time giving the track a jazzy feel.
Yet, it all feels so comfortable and pleasant and Jason achieve the impossible of sounding both fresh and familiar. Check the track out below and get a hold of it on Spotify.
