Discovery: Wild Child

Austin indie pop group Wild Child recently released Sinking Ship, an atmospheric folk tune tinged with sadness.

This sort of thing became very popular a few years ago, and there’s certainly a similarity to Laura Marling’s early work, with the vocals even sounding similar at some points. Not to worry though, as there is enough originality here to distinguish the band from their peers, with a more traditional folk outlook present here than that of the recent nu folk movement.

Wild Child have been around for seven years and their maturity as a band shows. Check out Sinking Ship below.
