18-year-old New York R&B singer Martha Elana has spent the last year honing her skill and is ready for the big time.

Martha Elana has an easy style. Her voice is velvety but her beats are layered. New track Kérkyra hits you straight away as something different from the run of the R&B mill. Instruments come and go, styles are surpassed by other styles. It feels similar to the direction in which Beyoncé has taken her music and it does feel a little like Martha might be hot on Queen Bey’s heels.
