New track Daughter tells a story that only Ryan could tell. It’s an ode to his father, an attempt to understand how the impact of his transition from girl to boy has impacted him. It’s a heart melting attempt to explain their relationship and frankly I found myself wrapped up in the story.

Aside from the storytelling, Daughter is also a well-constructed, upbeat folk song, a little punky in the same way that some of Green Day’s slower tracks are. Ryan continues his quest to open minds and hearts and we’re happy to have him here on York Calling.
