With headline performances from Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses and Avenged Sevenfold, this year’s Download festival is set to be epic, catering for rockers young and old alike.
The three-day festival takes place 8 – 10 June 2018 at the spiritual home of rock in Donington Park, Leicestershire.
No stranger to the hallowed grounds of Donington, The Prince Of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne will headline the Sunday night. Having previously graced the main stage in previous years fronting Black Sabbath, this will be his first ever Download headline solo appearance. The Download Festival set comes as part of Ozzy Osbourne’s final world tour.
Avenged Sevenfold will return to Download Festival once more, to give a momentous Friday night headline performance that will be talked about for years to come. From the genre-defining metal-core album City Of Evil, the hard rock UK No.1 Hail To The King, through to the latest progressive-metal sounds of The Stage; Avenged Sevenfold have an epic history of modern metal classics, a stage show to make Rammstein jealous and a proven track record of smashing anything that comes their way.
On the road since April 2016 and over 100 shows later, the resurgent Guns N’ Roses are back and coming to Download Festival. Reuniting last year for the first time since 1993, the inimitable Axl Rose, guitar legend Slash and original bassist Duff McKagan, plus Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer and Melissa Reese, have been blowing audiences away worldwide on the aptly named Not In This Lifetime Tour, and will stop by Donington on the Saturday night for their first UK Festival appearance of the classic line up on legendary form after selling 1 million tickets across Europe in 2017 alone.
If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Download has also announced the return of WWE NXT Live! Fans will be electrified with incredible displays of skill and athleticism, as the hugest names in sports entertainment deliver the fully-fledged NXT show to a full-scale ring in the festival arena. Not only that, but 21 more exciting names have been added to the bill including Andrew W.K, Hell Is For Heroes, Avatar, Bad Religion, and more. Download Festival is the only place in the world where fans can experience the exhilarating world of WWE NXT alongside the world’s biggest rock stars.
Massive NXT names Aleister Black, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, Nikki Cross, Shayna Baszler, Kairi Sane, The Undisputed ERA and many more will descend upon Download for a weekend of high flying manoeuvres, action-packed matches and unexpected surprises along the way. NXT has made a massive impact at the festival in previous years, performing to capacity crowds throughout the weekend, featuring impressive debuts, shocking returns and the exciting action even spilling over to band’s performances, this year is set to be even bigger and better.
