2000 Trees – Final Update

2tfrees

With 2000trees Festival 2018 taking place next week, here’s a bit more info on all that will be taking place at the event over the 3 days.

Main stage headliners At The Drive In, Twin Atlantic and Enter Shikari will be joined by the likes of – Marmozets, Arcane Roots, Turnstile, Black Peaks, Fatherson, Sløtface, Moose Blood, Sikth, Mallory Knox, Creeper, Touche Amore, Blood Red Shoes, Dream Wife, Basement, The XCERTS, Jamie Lenman and many many more.

With the mighty 2000trees Festival 2018 fast approaching, we wanted to remind you all of the incredible bands playing this years event, but also shed some light on some of the other goings on, happenings, special features and stand out points that will be happening at this years Trees.

From festival organiser, James Scarlett – “There is a lot happening at 2000trees Festival this year. Not only do you get 130 of the best rock bands on the planet, but we also spend a huge amount of time curating a festival that truly is the best party you’ve ever been to, in the most relaxing and beautiful location. Late night activities include our ever popular silent disco plus an exciting new addition this year… Noisey Karaoke. And if chilling is your thing then maybe try some sunset yoga, or go and relax at our stunning Forest Stage watching sets from the likes of Enter Shikari and Jamie Lenman. And if in doubt, just have a wander around our incredible range of hand-picked food vendors. I’m 100% convinced this is going to be the best 2000trees Festival yet!”

Recently, the world of music lost someone very special, Scott Hutchison – the frontman of Frightened Rabbit and Mastersystem. 2000trees Festival wants to pay tribute in the most respectful way we can to Scott and his bands, who are all long-time friends of the festival. Both of his bands were due to perform, so this year, there will be a ‘Camp Frabbit and at 14:25 on Friday July 13th in The Forest, there will be some very special guest performances celebrating Scott’s legacy.

There will be BUSK BOXES, which are just small un-amplified stages in the main campsite. They’ve been organically set up over the years by fans of Reuben, Frank Turner, Ben Marwood and now Frightened Rabbit (called by the fans Camp Turner, Camp Reuben, Camp Marwood and Camp Frabbit). They were not created by the festival, they were created by the fans, and this year there is also a little acoustic village where these BUSK BOXES are all near to each other. This will feature some special sets from various bands but is also an opportunity for the fans to get up and sing a song.

The site this year is 100% cashless, meaning everything from food, drink, merch and more must ALL be bought using the cashless wristbands.

For those festival go-ers not wanting to stop once the bands have all played, there will be Noisey (aka VICE) rock karaoke in the Neu stage on Friday and Saturday from 11pm-2am and the Silent Disco from 11pm-3am (Fri & Sat) on the Cave Stage (rock) and Main Stage (more commercial pop, electronic etc).

For those early birds, there are also more enhanced ‘breakfast’ activities between 9am-12pm and there is a much more developed children’s area featuring breakfast-ercise, Babel Babies and Rocking the Ukelele sessions, plus Flea’s Yurt of Fun, Musical Lovebirds and story-telling.

For some non music activities, we already have the Forest School which is very cool and something we encourage each Trees attendant to discover for themselves, very close to the Forest Stage. The Chillout Area makes a welcome return this year as well – a place of sanctuary to do absolutely nothing if you choose. Plus we have loads of activities to keep you entertained – especially in the mornings before the music starts. Why not try yoga, play the ukulele, Crazy Golf, the 2018 fancy dress theme day (this year it is BEES), challenge your mates to a board game, colour in a Hobbit or join in with the quiz games. Our charity partners will also be sharing their time with informal conversations, Juncture 25 will tickle your literary tentacles with poetry readings throughout the day, and there are refreshments right next door.

We also have some of the worlds very best independent food traders – from firm favourites Smokin Hot Tamales with their stunning burritos to the joyous return of Pieminister. For all you veggie vegans we have newbies Manjula Catering & Nomads. Both these guys will be bringing the veggie/ vegan delights (but most stalls include veggie/ vegan & gluten free options).

All in all, it sounds like a weekend not worth missing!
