American hip-hop artist and activist Madame Gandhi’s new single Top Knot Turn Up is truly an anthem for the modern woman.

The track is a collaboration with Brazilian trap artist Ruxell. Urgent percussion back up Gandhi’s fiery vocals before the big beats kick in. The listener is left in no doubt that this song is an outburst of the frustration of a woman just trying to be.

As an activist Gandhi is probably best known for being a free-bleeding London Marathon runner but as a musician she challenges the expected order just as much. On top of that, Top Knot Turn Up is also a banger. Check it out below.
