Tom Jones and Boyzone play at York Racecourse

Sir Tom Jones, one of the biggest names in the music business, is set to return to York Racecourse to entertain the crowds on Music Showcase Friday evening, 27 July followed the next evening by Boyzone at Music Showcase Saturday, 28 July.

Tom Jones:
After more than fifty years of success, his live performances still enthral huge crowds, and his most recent albums have Long Lost Suitcase and Spirit in the Room received rave reviews.

Internationally loved for hits such as Delilah, Kiss & What’s New Pussycat, he remains an artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.

Recognised by a new generation as a mentor of future talent through his role as a coach on hit TV show, The Voice, Tom returns to the Knavesmire, having sold out the venue in the summer of 2015.

Looking back to look forward, the Welsh singing legend said; “The York races crowd were tremendous on my last visit, I’ve always loved outdoor shows and it’s always lovely to be asked back, we’re going to have some fun.”

Boyzone:
Celebrating twenty-five years together, Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are the last of three music acts to play at the Knavesmire for the 2018 season, alongside Paloma Faith and Tom Jones.

Six UK Number One singles, more than 13 million record sales and four Brit Awards serve only to tell part of the story of a band who burst onto the scene with their appearance on the Late Late Show back in 1993.

Expect to hear hits including, No Matter What, Words, Picture of You, and Father and Son. Looking forward to a return to York, where he recently starred in Panto, Shane Lynch said; ‘I can’t wait to be back in York, being back together promises to be great fun. We’ve always loved outdoor shows and can’t wait to make some more memories with our fans!’
