Goodnight House is the primary musical output of Joel Lane, a native of the Detroit and mid-Michigan music scenes who relocated to Portland in 2013.

Aberdeen sees Lane experimenting with a number of different styles and themes, although the track never quite steps across the boundary into being too offbeat, which is good. It’s obvious that Lane is influenced by a lot of different musical movements, with moments of jazz also to be found within this folky pop-rock track.
