Addicted is the latest release from Louisiana post-punk/indie darling Quiet Hollers, with the track mixing new and older elements of indie together with a sad tale.
By Jane Howkins
Addicted is a story of drug addiction, with the lyrics written about frontman Shadwick Wilde’s brother and his death via a fentanyl overdose. It’s a story too often told in the modern era, and Wilde sings in such a passionate manner that you can’t help but feel for him. The music is great too, with a light piano riff mixing well with an indie-pop style.
