ADORE // REPEL have recently returned from their 10-date tour of the west coast of the USA, taking in shows in Portland, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles amongst others and making friends with pretty much everyone who they met. Having landed back on home soil, they will now play a celebratory show at LEEDS 360 CLUB on FRIDAY 19 OCTOBER.
Before leaving for America in early September, the band launched a new single and video, FRACTURES / IN TIME, their first new material since their debut album, EMPTY ORCHESTRA, which was released last year to a multitude of highly positive reviews. The new release followed another successful tour to Iceland in May and their rammed performance at the LONG DIVISION FESTIVAL in Wakefield in June, and is a further demonstration of their powerful and devastating, essentially instrumental sound.
ADORE // REPEL are an entirely self-funded four-piece from Wakefield, West Yorkshire; a fiercely independent band with their own record label, their own studio – which they built themselves – their own record shop and coffee bar, who operate without a booking agent or manager, and embrace everything that has always been so healthy about the DIY ethic.
Many bands obviously follow a similar path. The difference perhaps with ADORE // REPEL is that, without resorting to the machinations of the music industry, they have previously self-booked and played several full UK tours, along the way selling every bit of merchandise they took with them; performed three sell out tours in Iceland; played the Reading and Leeds Festivals; made the BBC Introducing Top Ten Sessions list; and self-released their debut album, EMPTY ORCHESTRA, on their own label to huge acclaim.
They will perform at the 360 Club in Leeds on October 19th.
