British rap-punk artist Rat Boy’s new video Internationally Unknown celebrates his humble origins.

It’s difficult to pigeon-hole Rat Boy’s style. It’s not quite hip-hop and it’s not quite rock, rather something in between. He’s very much the spiritual decedent of the likes of Plan B and Jamie T and distinctly British.

Internationally Unknown is an ode to growing up in Rat Boy’s Essex and an anthem for escaping it. It is incredibly infectious, with a singalong chorus and nod-inducing rhythm. The single is drawn from his debut album Scum that will be out in January. Check out Internationally Unknown below.
