Pyx is a Kent-based indie rock band that has already hit the radar of British taste-makers despite only releasing their debut single earlier this year.

Pyx include Radiohead, Girls and Elliot Smith among their influences and elements of those artists’ sounds are immediately apparent in new single The Movies. There is a melancholy in the vocals and the slow and mournful guitar riffs. The Movies is a slow-burner though, and the reward is there for the dedicated listener as the track’s ending is a true climax.

Pyx has been praised by the likes of BBC Radio 6 and Tom Robinson as well as having a solid fan-base in their hometown of Folkstone. We’re glad to bring their sound to York. Check out The Movies below.
