It’s great to see German jazz multi-instrumentalist KID BE KID back on York Calling after sharing her track The World’s Making Of way back in early 2018.

Her new track Monument is flush full of the experimental elements that first endeared her to me. The track is made up of piano, electronics, delicate vocals and beat-boxing. While jazz might be perceived as an old-school art form, KID BE KID brings a freshness to it that is impressive in its ingenuity.

It’s the freshness that really makes KID BE KID an exciting artist. Monument won’t be for everybody but if you’re looking for something new and different, check out the live performance video below.
