Discovery: Sol Croft

Sol Croft is a London-based singer-songwriter who takes his style cues from Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits.

The title of his new track What An Artist Dies In Me is filled with ironic self-importance but the grandeur is not entirely unjustified. This kind of stripped-back, tortured style is very difficult to pull off without sounding hacky – Sol Croft manages it.

Fans of the aforementioned Cohen and Waits will eat Sol’s music up. He’ll be following up this new release with a live show at The Servant Jazz Quarters in London on the 26 February if you fancy and trip and want to catch him live. Check out What An Artist Dies In Me below.
