The Rockefeller Frequency are an Australian indie rock band who combines nihilistic lyrics with jumpy guitar riffs.
By Graeme Smith
New track Good Apples has a stripped back opening. Naked, raw vocals are accompanied by staccato electric guitar. Then the chorus hits and your ears are assaulted by some Nirvana-style riffs and cries. It feels as if The Rockefeller Frequency could provide a similar voice to the latest generation of disillusioned much like Kurt Cobain did in the early ’90s.
Hailing from Brisbane, this is the band’s return from a hiatus that has lasted several years. Let’s hope they don’t go away again too soon. Check out Good Apples below.
