Hera is an Icelandic singer songwriter whose delicate new track Awake For Hours caught my attention.
By Graeme Smith
Awake For Hours starts with a laidback acoustic guitar and keys before Hera’s stained-glass vocals float in, delivering the memorable line: “I.. say ‘good morning’ to you darling like I’ve just got up before you but I’ve been awake for hours.” The track is about celebrating the moment and when you listen to it, the past and future do really melt away.
Originally from, and currently living in Iceland, Hera has also spent the past couple of years on the other side of the world in New Zealand. She’s performed as SXSW and Glastonbury festivals and toured internationally. She really is a tremendous talent. Check out Awake For Hours below.
