Pendejo is the new collaboration between LA singer-songwriter Mercy Collazo and R&B performer Too $hort.

Readers with a Latin background will recognise the word pendejo instantly, but for the rest of us it roughly translates as someone you’d rather avoid. From that title, it’s clear that the track is about love gone bad but both the lyrics and the video show the tongue-in-cheek and risque humour in Mercy’s music.

At its heart, this collaboration is about fun, yet it is also smooth and catchy. This is one to which you will keep returning. An LA native, Mercy has been performing since she was sixteen with her style comparable to Amy Winehouse. If that all sounds up your street, check out Pendejo below.
