Here’s a chill track for the start of your Bank Holiday weekend in the form of Swiss instrumental duo Kappa Mountain.

Their new track Distant Meadow starts with a quiet piano refrain bathed in layers of nostalgia but it’s not long before the subvert things with a hip-hop percussion loop. It’s then you realise that Kappa Mountain aren’t your usual composers. Their sound blends the classic with the modern to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

The duo that make up Kappa Mountain are pretty new to the scene, having formed last year, so I’m excited to see how their sound develops. Check out Distant Meadow below.
