Kowloon is an American bedroom pop artist whose chilled and emotional new track Paradise caught my ear.

“There’s so much life in the ocean” Kowloon declares at the start of Paradise. It’s a simple statement but holds a mystic energy when delivered in his smooth yet strained vocals. Kowloon says he’s inspired by Bryan Ferry when it comes to his vocals and you can detect the inspiration, understated yet carrying a burden of emotional weight.
There are many other cues from the ’80s in Kowloon’s music, not least the Talking Heads when it comes to a simple but compelling composition. I’ve concluded it’s impossible to not like Kowloon’s music. Check out Paradise below.
