Maisie Peters is an singer songwriter from West Sussex who has already hit the radar of NME and Clash, as well as having a song featured on the soundtrack to the recent film Birds of Prey.

Maisie’s style is on the folksy side of pop and her tracks are peopled with characters you might find in any British town. Her new track Sad Girl Summer is a case in point. The verses are filled with stories of women scorned by all too believable men before a pop chorus darkly invites us to raise our glasses and let it go.
I’d be very surprised if Maisie isn’t causing a big storm in the charts very soon. She’s got the pop sensibilities to make her radio friendly while having some genuine stories to tell with her lyrics. Check out Sad Girl Summer below.
