Hansom Ēli are a French-Canadian electro pop duo whose new video Summer Rise perfectly captures the feel of a lazy summer day.

Incredibly, it’s been 21 years since another Canadian act, Len, provided the soundtrack to our summer with their track Steal My Sunshine. I couldn’t help but be reminded of them while listening to Summer Rise. Hansom Ēli have a markedly different sound but the infectious summer vibe is there.

The vocals are smooth and alternating between French and English gives Summer Rise a really fresh feel. As does the lo-fi R&B instrumentals, placing this track as somewhere between hip-hop and electro pop, a wonderful hybrid of the two.
