Singer songwriter Rachel Croft has been a stalwart of the York music scene pretty much as long as we have. We’ve had the pleasure of covering her live shows multiple times so I was very excited to see she had put a new track to record.

Deep Water is a low-key number with influences of country, indie, pop and folk. It’s the audible equivalent of getting lost in memory, the perfect accompaniment for a session of looking back with a mix of joy and regret.
Rachel’s vocal range has always impressed me and she makes things feel effortless here. Her soulful voice is tinged with longing that gives way to hope as the song reaches its climax.
If you’re in or around York, you’ll likely have already seen Rachel perform, even if you’ve just passed her busking on the street. If you’re new to her music, Deep Water is a great introduction. Check it out below.
