Emma McGrath is a young British singer songwriter we’ve featured a lot here at York Calling. I’ve been captivated by her music since early 2018 when she burst on my radar with her video Love You Better. She quickly followed that with Silent Minds before recently returning with Say Something.

Her new track Getaway Train is a relationship song – but it’s not a relationship between two people. In the track, Emma is addressing the relationship she has with her music, and how it sometimes gets in the way of everything else in her life. It’s an intriguing premise for a song and separates Emma’s skill in songwriting above her peers.
