Passenger has the sort of driving rhythm I’m more accustomed to hear from a ’90s trance anthem. Hearing it recreated with orchestral instruments is quite a tonic. The track has a feeling of movement, of travel to somewhere new and bright. I couldn’t help but feel hopeful listening to it.
Based in Saskatchewan, Factor Eight (real name Andrew Bennett) has been garnering a fair bit of attention since he started his career in 2012. He’s won a SOCAN award and his music has featured in the TV show So You Think You Can Dance. It’s easy to see why with such a fresh approach.
