David Redd is an American singer songwriter whose new track takes on the struggles involved with walking your own path, even if it surprises those who think they know you.

I was instantly captured by David’s song-writing style. It draws on little details, the minutiae of everyday life, to paint a picture of an emotional struggle, of words unsaid. The story swells to a chorus where he poses the title’s rhetorical question “do I seem okay?”

The track is constructed as a classic country rock song and the familiarity of it makes it feel like an old favourite. David’s growling vocals are perfectly suited to the style and it’s hardly surprising that he includes the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young among his influences.
