Sounds of Blue is the first single from UK trip-hop act Morcheeba’s tenth studio album Blackest Blue.
By Graeme Smith
Morcheeba first came to prominence with the 1998 album Big Calm, which featured their most popular track to date – The Sea. If you’re not a diehard Morcheeba fan, it may surprise you to learn they’ve been releasing music steadily since.
Sounds of Blue holds all the beach-age charm you’d expect. The vocals are tranquil and the lyrics are saturated with ocean metaphor. The echoing, layered instrumentals bring you to the bottom of the ocean. A hooky chorus is a stand out and will be swimming through your head all day.
Their album Blackest Blue will be out on 23 April and you can check out Sounds Of Blue below.
