Erica Bramham is an Australian neofolk artist whose poetic new track Pelicans // Enamel caught my attention.
By Graeme Smith
Imagery, when used well, can be very effective and that’s exactly why I was drawn to Erica’s music. Pelicans // Enamel is rich with seaside metaphor. At the beginning of the track, Erica’s poetry is accompanied by a simple guitar melody and percussion, but this grows to a more complex arrangement with double bass and broken piano that come and go like ocean waves.
The accompanying video features Erica getting a little tied up in a low-lit room. You can check it out below. If you like you hear, you can pre-order Erica’s album Enamel on Bandcamp.
