Eden Iris is a New Zealand-born, LA-based singer songwriter who first hit our radar back in 2018. Her new track is a cinematic, operatic meditation on the subject of loss. It’s called Death Is A Teacher.

Death Is A Teacher is a complex track which keeps you engaged. The operatic opening gives way to a hooky pop chorus and electronic dance elements. There’s acoustic guitar, mournful organ, strings, everything but the kitchen sink. Eden’s soft vocals holds everything together and the catchy refrain of the chorus always returns at the right time.
