When I Go is, in many ways, a traditional Americana song. There’s acoustic guitar, violin and folksy vocals. What elevates it is its beautiful harmonies and lyrics that cut right to the bone. It’s a simple message – we’ve all got to go sometime but enjoy your life and don’t worry about what happens next – but it’s delivered so powerfully that I couldn’t help but pause and reflect.
Reid grew up in a small town near Toronto being influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Feist. As well as her solo music she’s also a member of the folk trio Sleeping Bees. Check out When I Go below. I hope you’re as taken with her music as I am.
